Conversation behaviour
These settings decide when the assistant talks and when it stops. All of them live in the assistant configuration and are published with a version; on a browser test call the interruption mode can be changed per call. Admins can also change the interruption mode and the maximum call length in Assistants → assistant → Settings. Prompt and policies →
Interruptions (turn)
Section titled “Interruptions (turn)”If the customer starts talking while the assistant is speaking, the assistant stops. Short acknowledgements (“hı hı”, “evet”) do not stop it.
| Field | Default | Limit | Meaning |
|---|---|---|---|
interruption_mode | sentence_start | off, sentence_start, on | on: can be interrupted at any time. sentence_start: can be interrupted during the first interruption_window_s seconds of each assistant turn, then locks. off: cannot be interrupted |
interruption_window_s | 1.5 | 0–10 s | The open window in sentence_start mode |
interruption_min_duration_s | 0.6 | 0.1–2 s | Shortest sound needed to pause; short acknowledgements stay below it |
min_interruption_words | 0 | 0–10 | 0: pause as soon as speech is heard and continue if it was an acknowledgement. >0: no interruption until that many words are recognised (slower) |
false_interruption_timeout_s | 1.0 | 0.3–5 s | How long the assistant waits after the customer stops before continuing |
Turn-taking
Section titled “Turn-taking”| Field | Default | Limit | Meaning |
|---|---|---|---|
eou_threshold | 0.95 | 0–1 | Confidence threshold for deciding the customer has finished |
min_endpointing_delay | 0.5 s | 0–3 | Minimum wait before answering. 0.5 s so pauses inside Turkish sentences don’t cut the turn |
max_endpointing_delay | 2.5 s | 0.5–10 | Maximum wait |
vad_min_silence_s | 0.3 s | 0.1–1.5 | Silence needed for end of speech |
Silence (inactivity)
Section titled “Silence (inactivity)”| Field | Default | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
enabled | true | Silence handling is on |
warn_s | 15 s | After this much silence: “Orada mısınız? Sizi duyamıyorum.” (“Are you there? I can’t hear you.”) |
hangup_s | 45 s | After this much silence the call ends (must be greater than warn_s) |
post_close_listen_s | 3 s | Keep listening this long after the closing sentence (0–30) |
Call duration limit
Section titled “Call duration limit”| Field | Default | Limit |
|---|---|---|
runtime.max_duration_s | 600 s (10 min) | 30–3600 |
runtime.max_duration_warn_s | 60 s | 0–600; 0 means no warning |
runtime.max_duration_warn_text | “Görüşme süremiz dolmak üzere…” (our time is almost up; any remaining issue can be passed to the team as a request) | — |
max_duration_warn_s seconds before the limit the assistant politely warns the customer; when the limit is reached the call ends.
How a call ends (hangup)
Section titled “How a call ends (hangup)”The assistant ends the call with the end_call tool and says the hangup.goodbye sentence. A call also ends when the customer hangs up, the connection drops or the silence limit is reached. The call’s outcome (outcome) is shown in the call record; for example user_hangup when the customer hung up.
