Your first test call

The Test Call page in the console lets you have a real conversation with a published assistant and watch it live. Test calls are marked as test in the call history (is_test) and can be kept out of analytics.

  1. Open Test Call and pick a published assistant.
  2. Choose Browser as the channel. You talk through your computer’s microphone.
  3. Optionally enter a Customer name and Phone (for SMS). The phone is optional; the assistant sends the order link to it by SMS and it is shown masked on screen.
  4. You can change the Interruptions setting for this call: assistant setting, on, at sentence start, or off. Conversation behaviour →
  5. Press Start call and allow microphone access in your browser.

If microphone access is denied, allow it from the address bar and try again. The console tells you if no microphone is found or another app is using it.

When the call starts, the live call screen opens:

  • State rings: what the assistant is doing — connecting, listening, speaking, thinking, using a tool, waiting, completed. With reduced motion enabled, the rings stay still and a level bar is shown instead.
  • Live transcript: customer and assistant turns, tool calls and their results.
  • Duration: how long the call has lasted.

After the call, the same call appears in Call History with its transcript, events, latency measurements and (if enabled) audio recording. Call history →

  • Does the greeting say your brand name correctly?
  • Ask about a known order number: are the carrier and tracking number right?
  • Are product and brand names pronounced correctly? If not, add them to the pronunciation dictionary.
  • Interrupt the assistant: does it stop talking right away?
  • Say “I’d like to talk to an agent”: does it transfer if a target is set up, or offer a callback outside working hours?
